Professional Web Design

I primarily design websites for bloggers and small business owners. My style focuses on modern web design trends and standards. You can expect clean and professional designs that will give you a website or blog that you can be proud of.

No pre-bought templates or frameworks! Everything is custom coded

As much as I am a web designer, I am also a coder and a developer.

A lot of WordPress designers these days pick a pre-made theme and then just tweak it to suit their clients' needs. They change around the graphics and edit a bit of CSS here and there.

While that works for some people, I find it limiting. You're confined to a theme's framework and general structure, which then limits your clients' wishes. That's why I code all of my clients' themes from scratch.

By coding my own themes, there are no limits. My clients are not confined to an existing template or format. Your theme will be built from the ground up so that it meets your needs 100%.

Affordable Pre-Made Themes

The Creative Whim Store offers a selection of pre-made themes for self-hosted WordPress blogs. These themes are sleek, professional, varied, and best of all: customizable.

Each theme comes with a built-in options panel that allows you to tweak and change the design to meet your needs. You can turn a pre-made theme into one that looks like it was custom built. The settings panel allows you to upload custom header/background images, change the page layout and sidebar orientation, and more.

Shaheen from Speculating on SpecFic

WordPress.org has a bunch of highly functional, professional themes available. Even the free ones are sensational. I went with Ashley’s Tweak Me theme—a theme designed for book bloggers that’s already ridiculously customisable, and then paid her to help me change a few things to really make it my own. In particular, she added in the amazing tabs you see on the homepage, and made my menus transparent, as well as a host of other things. I was really picky about the whole process, and she is so patient and kind.

I’m OK with HTML and CSS myself, so while Ashley took some well deserved time off over the weekend (the poor girl was jet-lagged and not sleeping well and still working on my design!) I did a few bits and pieces myself, and then asked her to add those elements to the design. It worked out really well, because I knew what I wanted and had a first attempt at it, and then she was able to provide her very insightful comments.

So there you have it, the why, what, how, and how much, of my migration to WordPress.org. I highly recommend the amazing, super-smart, kind and patient Ashley for her migration and design services, RFE for their hosting plans, prices and customer support, and Ashley’s Tweak Me theme and Ultimate Book Blogger Plugin. Bring on the books!

Giselle from Xpresso Reads

Ashley at Creative Whim (Nose Graze) [..] made the move [to WordPress] totally painless—she went way beyond my expectations of how much help and guidance she would give me throughout the process, plus she completely customized the book blogger plugin for my crazy review template design which I didn’t think possible. From helping me with deciding which host to go with (also a big shout out to Steph from Cuddlebuggery who was a big help as well!), to design detailing, to the actual WP implementation, she was just a doll to work with. And you should know I have to be one of the pickiest person on this planet. I nitpick at the tiniest of design details, and maybe she cried without telling me—which is possible—but she stayed so patient through my neurosis and really she deserves an award (like, I made her lower a font to a half px)! So don’t hesitate to go with this girl!

Ashley Evans, otherwise known as Nose Graze (and Creative Whim), is The Blogging Fairy. I've only been blogging six months, but a couple months ago I decided on a move to self-hosted WordPress. I contacted Ashley about hiring her, and we began the process.

Within a couple hours, she had most of my site recoded for WordPress. Within twenty-four hours, my new site was up and running. Two and a half months later, Ashley still helps me when I run into a problem. She did a fantastic job moving my design over, along with everything else. She responds quickly, explains things very well, and is an absolute delight to work with.

There are several book bloggers out there who do 'how-to' posts. I read a lot of them, because you never know what you may learn. Ashley is one of those bloggers, and her "Bitchin' Book Blog" posts are informative, easy to read, and extremely helpful. I make it a point to read each and every one of her posts.

I was under the impression that Ashley had been blogging forever. Turns out, she's been at this a little more than a year. I was shocked when I realized that. Everything about her makes her worthy of the title Blogging Fairy. Her reviews rock. Her tips & tricks are great. Her personality is wonderful. Her coding and design skills are mind-blowing to me. She is a dream to work with. Her plugins and themes ROCK!

Here's the bottom line: Ashley Evans from Nose Graze is an absolute delight in all possible ways. I am honored to be able to say I know this sweetheart of a blogger.
